Description
The University seeks to engage a Senior Laboratory Technician in the Faculty of Natural Resources, Management and Agriculture, Department of Department of Horticulture and Crop Production
Duties and Responsibilities

Manages laboratory operations, ensuring laboratories, equipment, and instruments are maintained, calibrated, and safe for teaching and research

Prepares laboratory practicals, field experiments, specimens, reagents, and equipment for undergraduate, postgraduate, and research activities
-
Supervises laboratory technicians, student assistants, and interns while ensuring compliance with laboratory safety, biosafety, and quality assurance procedures
-
Supports research by assisting with sample collection, analysis, data recording, equipment troubleshooting, and procurement of laboratory consumables and equipment

Maintains laboratory inventories, equipment maintenance records, budgets, and standard operating procedures (SOPs), while ensuring compliance with university and regulatory requirements
Qualifications and Experience

A Master’s Degree in Animal Science or Crop Science from a recognized University

A Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Crop Science or Animal Science

At least two (2) years of experience as a Laboratory Technician
-
Two A-level passes in Biology, Chemistry or related subjects/a diploma in Agriculture or related fields
-
At least five Ordinary Level subjects including English Language and Mathematics
