Description
The University seeks to engage a Laboratory Technician in the Faculty of Natural Resources, Management and Agriculture, Department of Department of Horticulture and Crop Production
Duties and Responsibilities
-
Prepares laboratories, equipment, reagents, specimens, and materials for practical classes, research, and field experiments
-
Operates, cleans, and performs routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory and field equipment, reporting faults when necessary
-
Assists academic staff and students during practical sessions, ensuring compliance with laboratory safety and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
-
Collects, processes, labels, stores, and records laboratory and field samples, while maintaining accurate laboratory records and inventories
-
Monitors laboratory consumables, maintains cleanliness and orderliness of the laboratory, and supports procurement and stock control activities
Qualifications and Experience

A Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Crop Science/Horticulture
-
Two A-level passes in Crop Science/Biology/Chemistry or related subjects or a diploma in Agriculture or related studies
-
At least five Ordinary Level subjects including English Language and Mathematics
