The University seeks to engage a Lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering and the Environment, Department of Geography and Environmental Science
Responsibilities
As a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor / Full Professor, Climate Change and Adaptation, you will be
-
Lecturing on the following undergraduate courses: Weather and Climate, Meteorology and Climatology, Statistics for Geographers, Natural Hazards and Disaster Management, Environmental Chemistry
-
Supervise undergraduate dissertation
-
Participate in community outreach activities
-
Participate in University income generation projects
-
Contribute significantly to the research, curriculum development, innovation and industrialisation activities
-
Perform academic and administrative duties as assigned by the Vice-Chancellor through the Department
Qualification
-
The candidate must have 5 Ordinary level passes including English Language and Mathematics
-
Applications must hold a BSc (Honours) Degree or equivalent degree in Climatology, Climate change, Geography and Environmental Science
-
A Master’s Degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric physics, Geography or closely related fields
-
A relevant PhD qualification will be an added advantage
-
A record of scholarly contribution in at least one referred journal
-
A tertiary teaching experience is a prerequisite
