The University seeks to engage a Cybersecurity Specialist in the Department of Information and Communication Technology

As a CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST, you will be

Develop, implement, and enforce cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures
Monitor systems and networks for security threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents
Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and risk assessments
Coordinate incident response, investigation, and reporting of security breaches
Implement and manage security controls, including firewalls, endpoint protection, and access controls
Support secure configuration of servers, networks, and applications
Lead security awareness and training programs for staff and students
Support compliance with data protection laws, audits, and regulatory requirements
Maintain incident logs, risk registers, and security documentation
Advise management on emerging cyber threats and mitigation strategies
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on cybersecurity initiatives

Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Network Engineering and Security or related field
Five (5) Ordinary Level Passes including English Language and Mathematics
Certification in information security will be an added advantage
Minimum two (2) years’ experience in cybersecurity or information security roles
