Description
The University seeks to engage a Senior Assistant Registrar in the Registrar's Department, Human Resources Section.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Assistant Registrar, Human Resources, you will be
-
Plans and facilitates recruitment, performance management, employee relations, disciplinary procedures, terminations, employee reward, compensation and benefits system, ensuring that these comply with the University’s policies

Interpret and administer contracts about grievances, employee welfare, pensions, and health care
-
Manage grievance procedures and handle complaints that result from disputes between the employer and employees
-
Recommends and executes human resources policies, procedures, initiatives and systems that comply with the University’s Strategic Plan and the legislative requirements

Develops tools to ensure legal obligations relating to human resources are maintained and updated timeously

Preparation of payroll
-
Ensure all payroll records are accurate and up to date

Ensure that all payroll-related files are securely stored and easily accessible for inquiries
-
Responds to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, benefits and other related matters
-
Ensures proper human resources plan is in place and job descriptions for current or new positions are updated and recorded appropriately
-
Maintains an up to date and efficient human resources information and record keeping system and prepares report as may be required by the Registrar

Manages human resources audits and liaises with auditors

Supervises and coaches human resources staff
-
Keep abreast with Labour Laws and Collective Bargaining issues
Qualification
-
Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management / Psychology/ Industrial Relations / Sociology

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management / Psychology / Industrial Relations / Sociology
-
An IPMZ Diploma is a prerequisite
-
Diploma in Industrial Relations is an added advantage
-
Belina payroll certificate is an added advantage Five (5) Ordinary Level passes including English Language At least three (3) years of working experience at the Administrative level / Human Resource Officer

Working knowledge of the Labour Act and related statutes and regulations
