The University seeks to engage Cooks in the Retail Department

Responsibilities

As a RETAIL COOK, you will be

  • Cook dishes
  • Quality check ingredients and prepared products to be used during service
  • Follow recipes accurately
  • Prepare food using various appliances and equipment
  • Maintain a clean, safe and sanitized work area
  • Organize equipment, utensils and other tools prior to service
  • Participate in the garnishing and presentation of dishes
  • Oversee opening and closing duties for each assigned shift
  • Follow food Safety Protocols
  • Ensures the cleanliness and sanitation of the cook areas, maintains sanitary standards for the handling, transportation and storage of food
Qualification
  • Certificate in Professional Cookery/Food Preparation/Hotel and Catering from a recognised institution
  • Applicants must have five (5) Ordinary Level Passes
  • A Class one (1) journeyman certificate is an added advantage
  • One (1) year experience as a cook in a restaurant environment
