The University seeks to engage a Technician in the Department of Geography and Environmental Science
Responsibilities
As a FULL-TIME GIS AND REMOTE SENSING TECHNICIAN, you will be
-
Providing technical support during GIS and Remote Sensing practical sessions
-
Managing and maintaining the GIS laboratory, equipment, and related software
-
Installing, configuring, and updating GIS and Remote Sensing software (eg, ArcGIS, QGIS, ERDAS Imagine)
-
Assisting staff and students with spatial data acquisition, processing, analysis, and map production
-
Managing spatial databases and ensuring proper data storage and backup
-
Supporting field data collection using GPS and other geospatial technologies
-
Ensuring compliance with university ICT and laboratory policies
-
Performing any other duties as assigned by the Department
Qualification
-
A Bachelor’s degree in Geography and Environmental Science, Geospatial Science, GIS and Remote Sensing, Geo-informatics, or a related field

The candidate must have 5 Ordinary level passes including English Language and Mathematics
-
Postgraduate diploma in GIS and Remote Sensing will be an added advantage
-
Possession of 1year university or research environment experience
