Description
The University seeks to engage a Lecturer in the Faculty of Natural Resources Management and Agriculture, Department of Horticulture and Crop Production.
Responsibilities
As a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/ Full Professor: Plant Breeder, you will be
-
Participate in University income-generating projects
-
Participate in the invigilation of examinations
-
Supervise post-graduate and undergraduate student research projects
-
Participate in outreach activities in the crop production sector
-
Attract and manage research grants
-
Participate in University services
-
Innovate and facilitate service delivery
-
The incumbent must be able to: teach Genetics, Plant Breeding, Plant Biotechnology, Plant Biology, Plant Physiology, Statistical Methods and Experimental Design and any other modules which may be assigned by the Department
Qualification
-
Five (5) Ordinary Level Passes including English Language
-
A Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree in Crop Science or related fields

Applicants must be holders of at least a Master of Science Degree in Plant Breeding from a recognised University
-
A PhD in Plant Breeding is an added advantage
-
At least one peer reviewed publication
-
At least one year teaching experience at tertiary level
