The University seeks to engage a Sub Librarian in the Library Department

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Contribute to strategic planning, policy development, and review for library services Develop and implement programs and strategies to support faculty and postgraduate research
  • Lead the development of research intelligence reports, including research impact analyses, performance indicators, and trends, to inform institutional strategy, research enhancement initiatives, and evidence-based decision-making
  • Coordinate and guide digital and open scholarship initiatives
  • Support researchers and library initiatives in identifying funding opportunities, developing grant proposals, and preparing evidence-based applications to enhance research capacity and innovation
  • Assist researchers with systematic literature reviews and evidence synthesis through advanced literature searching, database selection, and search strategy development
  • Assist the University Librarian in conducting library research, assessment, benchmarking, and analytical reporting to generate evidence for strategic planning, policy development, and continuous improvement of library services
  • Design and deliver information and digital literacy programs tailored to diverse student and staff needs
  • Collaborate with academic departments to integrate library instruction and resources into curricula
  • Provide research skills training on research tools, citation management, academic publishing, copyright literacy, etc
  • Foster partnerships with research offices, faculties, and academic departments
  • Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the University Librarian
Qualifications and Experience
  • A Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science
  • A first Degree in Library and Information Science
  • Five (5) Ordinary level passes including English Language
  • Have at least three (3) years post-qualification experience in a university library setting, at least as an Assistant Librarian
